ABOUT GRACE UNLIMITED.

EXPECT.

WHAT TO

Grace Unlimited is a thoughtful, inclusive, and affirming campus ministry for students at Butler University.  The ministry is supported by the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis and the Indiana-Kentucky Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).  We also serve students from Methodist, Presbyterian, United Church of Christ, and Reformed Church in America traditions.  Students of all religious backgrounds are welcome, including those exploring spirituality or faith for the first time.  We don't have all the answers, but we do love a good question.

On Thursday nights at 7:30 p.m., students gather at The Compass Center (aka ‘The Blue House’) for food and fellowship.  At 8:00 p.m., we begin our program for the evening, which could be a game, a bible study, a guest speaker, or something else entirely!  We always end in prayer.

Our chaplain is the Rev. Peter Gray, an Episcopal priest who also serves as young adult missioner for the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis.  The Episcopal Church is an open, thoughtful, and generous expression of the Christian tradition grounded in common prayer.

OUR COMMUNITY

Grace Unlimited is made up of students and staff from the Butler community who invite all those on campus and in the surrounding areas to join them in fellowship, prayer, and learning.

We are an LGBTQ+ affirming campus ministry that offers a generous welcome to all who wish to know, love, and serve Christ better.  We seek to be a safe space that invites curiosity and supports those who have either been excluded elsewhere or may be seeking a new community of faith.

OUR
MISSION

Love God. Love Others. Love Yourself.

Our mission is to be open to new insights. God encounters us, not only through the Scriptures and traditions of our past, but also through today’s experience and critical thinking.

We stand in continuity with generations before us who have encountered God in the life, death and risen life of Jesus Christ. Their past experience is an essential part of who we are today. We are especially informed by the broad Anglican and Lutheran traditions of the Christian faith.
