Since 2002, Grace Unlimited has offered a warm and affirming Christian community for students at Butler. We believe that each is created in the image and likeness of God, and so we welcome students from a variety of religious backgrounds, and we celebrate the leadership of women and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Grace Unlimited is a place for students to put down roots during an important season of their lives.
College is not just about academics, it's also about discovering who you are, what you believe, and what you want to commit your life to. Grace Unlimited supports students as they deepen relationships, ask big questions, and explore their own faith and spirituality. Above all, we remind students of whose they are: beloved children of God, welcomed graciously and unconditionally, as they are.

The Rev. Peter Gray
Chaplain
Peter (he/him) is an Episcopal priest who discovered his passion for campus ministry while serving in Sewanee, Tennessee, following years of parish ministry in New Orleans and Mississippi. Now serving as both our Chaplain and the Young Adult Missioner for the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis, he loves working with young adults to create faith communities that are deep, playful, and genuinely life-giving. Peter is a lifelong student, an avid hiker, and a lover of good music and storytelling.
Mya McIntyre
Student President
Mya (she/her) is a senior majoring in biology with minors in chemistry and Spanish. She is Grace Unlimited's president and a board member. When coming to college, she wanted to find a faith community that was similar to her ELCA church back home in Elburn, Illinois. When she started attending Grace Unlimited meetings in her freshman year, she fell in love with the community and knew she wanted to take up a leadership position. She also sings in Butler Choirs and has two jobs with the Butler Arts and Events Center.
Dr. Brent Hege
Faculty Advisor & Board President
A longtime faculty member at Butler, Dr. Hege (he/him) is Senior Lecturer in Religion and the Compass Center Scholar in Residence. He teaches courses in Christian theology and comparative religion, as well as the popular first year seminar, "Faith, Doubt, and Reason." A lifelong Lutheran, he is a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Indianapolis and serves on the Indiana-Kentucky Synod's Candidacy Committee. A longtime board member, Dr. Hege actively ensures the ministry remains a welcoming, inclusive campus space where students can wrestle with big questions, serve the community, and have fun.
